Job summary

Impact Dojo in the Chicagoland area is seeking a motivated martial arts instructor to educate youth aged 4 to 18, supervise groups, and uphold safety and positive behavior. Candidates should demonstrate teaching skills, strong communication with children and parents, and teamwork with staff.

The ideal candidate will possess experience teaching martial arts, be able to implement company curriculum, and comply with child safety checks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children.
• Martial arts teaching experience (1–5 years).
• Child abuse clearance and criminal checks required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Teaching certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily martial arts instruction to students aged 4–18 with different ability levels.
• Demonstrate martial arts techniques, explain principles, observe and assess, and give feedback on progress.
• Group supervision of students focusing on behavior, health and safety, security, and personal development.
• Ensure safety of students and team members; enforce all martial arts rules and regulations.
• Organize and prepare daily lesson plans in a fun and creative manner.
• Use effective classroom management to create a fun, inclusive environment.
• Collaborate with fellow Activity Specialists and be a positive role model.
• Follow the Impact Dojo Code of Conduct and maintain the Impact Dojo look.
• Exhibit Impact Martial Arts Core Values and adhere to company policies.
