Job summary

The Y in Central Maryland seeks a Youth Martial Arts Instructor to lead structured classes for children under the supervision of the Program/Sports Director. You will teach techniques, foster confidence, discipline and respect while ensuring a safe, engaging learning environment.

Applicants should have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and current CPR/AED/First Aid certification, plus experience with youth and a willingness to complete required associate training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred, but not required.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Completion of new associate training (including Child Abuse Prevention) before scheduled to work.

Responsibilities

• Lead youth martial arts classes for children of varying ages and skill levels.
• Teach proper martial arts techniques while maintaining a safe environment.
• Encourage confidence, discipline, teamwork and respect.
• Set up and put away equipment before and after class; track attendance as part of curriculum.
