Qualifications

• Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.
• Ability to examine and evaluate data relating to a workers' compensation program.
• Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to a workers' compensation program.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed investigations of workers' compensation claims from state employees submitted to Risk Management.
• Evaluate medical reports, authorize medical treatment, determine rehabilitation needs, and authorize payments and settlements.
• Assist and advise Claims Coordinators with questions concerning coverage, compensability, medical treatment and reporting work related accidents.
• Monitor activities of Risk Management's service vendors and complete required DWC forms for ED Reporting.
• Perform related work as required.
