Responsibilities

• Receive assignment or evaluate news leads and develop story ideas
• Gather and verify factual information through interviews, observation and research
• Organize material, determine slant, and write to editorial standards
• Shoot video and still photos to illustrate stories
• Edit, or assist in editing, videos for multimedia platforms
• Appear on television program during taped interview or narration
• Give live reports from event sites or mobile units
