Job summary

FedEx Supply Chain is seeking a Package Handler to load and unload packages at our facility in Plainfield, IN. You will scan, lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 100 pounds and verify labels and numbers while meeting productivity standards.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, promptness, and accuracy. A high school diploma or GED is required, with 0–2 years of related experience and the ability to use PC/RF systems. Training for certifications is provided where needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0–2 years of related experience.
• Ability to use PC and/or RF-based computer systems may be required.
• Knowledge of NASCR café labeling system preferred.
• Must obtain Load - T-stacking certification.
• Required to obtain CAN inspection certification.
• May require Dangerous Goods certification and compliance with related shipping requirements.
• Promptness and attention to detail required.
• Ability to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Strong team player.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload packages onto/off of trailers by scanning, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 100 lbs.
• Read labels, verify numbers, and follow work instructions while meeting productivity metrics.
• Perform general housekeeping tasks including sweeping, unpacking, and detrashing vehicles or shipments.
• Attend safety meetings and report unsafe working conditions immediately.
• Assist in orientation of new hire package handlers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
