Job summary

Rugby Architectural Building Products is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator to support warehouse operations at our Rockford, IL location. You will receive, unload, store material, and pick and load product for customer orders.

The role requires operating a forklift, maintaining inventory accuracy, and keeping a clean, safe work area. This position offers the 6:30am–3:00pm shift, competitive benefits, and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse operations, with forklift experience and certification a plus.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced distribution environment.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and process workflows.

Responsibilities

• Offload trucks with materials from our vendor and load trucks with product to ship to our customers.
• Operate a forklift; forklift operator experience and certification are a plus!
• Take ownership for maintaining inventory counts with your work area.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Ensure that material loaded for delivery matches customer orders.
• Work safely, attend safety meetings and follow all safety procedures and policies.
• Lift extremely heavy, awkward products (up to 50-100 pounds with a helper) repeatedly to store and load onto a truck.
