Job summary

Tarzana Pet Clinic in Tarzana, California is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our busy, small-animal practice. You will help restrain during exams, prepare lab samples, administer medications and vaccines, and support doctors with surgeries and exams.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of veterinary clinical experience, familiarity with Cornerstone, strong animal-handling skills, and excellent communication and organization to keep the hospital clean, safe, and efficient.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of veterinary clinical experience.
• Familiarity with Cornerstone preferred.
• Knowledge of proper animal handling and restraint.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to collect laboratory samples and assist with medications.
• Experience with anesthesia monitoring is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Restrain cats and dogs during exams and treatments.
• Maintain hospital cleanliness and organization.
• Prepare laboratory samples and perform basic analyses.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments per doctor orders.
• Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Monitor anesthesia during pre- and post-operative care.
