Job summary

The YMCA is seeking a high-energy group exercise instructor to lead energizing, safe, and educational fitness classes that align with our mission. You will create a welcoming atmosphere for all levels and motivate class members to achieve their health goals.

You will answer member questions, maintain attendance, attend trainings and events, and follow YMCA policies. Certification requirements include basic safety credentials within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Certification to teach classes is required; 30 days to obtain if not on hire.
• Strong energy, motivation, and ability to engage participants of all levels.
• Excellent communication and social media skills to connect with members.

Responsibilities

• Lead energizing, safe, and educational group classes as directed to support the YMCA mission.
• Create a welcoming class environment for all fitness levels and motivate members.
• Answer questions to help members reach health goals.
• Maintain accurate class attendance records and participate in required trainings.
• Represent the YMCA at master classes, fundraisers, and events.
• Follow YMCA policies and respond to emergencies.
• Obtain required certifications within 30 days of hire.
