Job summary

YMCA of Springfield seeks a passionate group fitness instructor to lead energizing, safe, and educational classes in a supportive environment. You will engage members, answer questions, and promote wellness aligned with YMCA policies.

Required certifications include CPR, First Aid, AED, with preferred national group fitness certification (ACE/NETA/AFAA/NASM) and YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise within 1 year. Prior teaching experience is valued.

Qualifications

• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications required.
• National certification in group fitness (ACE/NETA/AFAA/NASM) preferred or within 1 year of hire.
• YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise certification preferred or required within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes as directed to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
• Interact with class participants, encourage progression, and be available before/after class to support healthy living goals.
• Maintain knowledge of wellness trends and provide accurate information to members about healthy living.
