Job summary

Tahoe Expedition Academy is seeking Substitute TEAchers to support learning across our elementary, middle and high school programs. Substitutes join students on learning journeys, follow prepared lesson plans, and help our teachers provide engaging, standards-aligned experiences.

Duties include field study guidance, in-class activities, documenting attendance and participation, and communicating with faculty.

Qualifications

• Teaching experience and/or related professional experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well with a team and independently.
• Evidence of professional development in educational topics

Responsibilities

• Join students on a learning journey designed to empower creative problem solvers with a social conscience.
• Assist with hands-on exploration of the natural environment and core subjects.
• Follow provided lesson plans with support from faculty and staff.
• Track, document and communicate student performance in line with lesson plans.
• Communicate with other faculty and school administration; provide weekly classroom summaries for longer-term substitutions.
