Job summary

Mandan Public School District is seeking Substitute Teachers for all MPS schools in Mandan, North Dakota. The daily rate is $150 for a full day and $75 for a half day.

Starting date is to be determined, with an on-site Brave Center intake process and standard new-hire forms. Substitutes must hold a valid North Dakota teaching license for long-term substitutes, be at least 18, and be able to follow both oral and written directions and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.

Qualifications

• Candidate must hold a valid North Dakota Teaching License for long-term substitute positions.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to follow both oral and written directions and instructions.
• Ability to communicate in both oral and written means.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to students, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Teaches scheduled classes.
• Prepares a written summary of work completed.
• Assumes all duties and responsibilities of the absent teacher.
• Follows the teacher’s written lesson plans.
• Consults with the principal and staff to resolve questions and concerns.
• Complies with building procedures and schedules.
• Promotes the proper use and care of school property.
• Maintains a positive learning environment.
• Works cooperatively with staff and parents.
• Respects personal privacy and maintains confidentiality.
