Job summary

High Tech High seeks a Substitute Teacher to provide day-to-day teaching coverage for the 2026-27 school year across its San Diego County campuses. The role is hourly, part-time and non-exempt, with duties including preparing lesson plans, delivering instruction, grading work and documenting student progress under the supervision of the School Director.

A California K-12 credential or Substitute Permit is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Valid California K-12 teaching credential (or Substitute Permit / TPSL).

Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans and deliver instructional lessons.
• Grade assignments and monitor student progress.
• Create engaging, project-based activities aligned to learning goals.
• Maintain classroom environment and manage student behavior.
• Communicate with School Director and staff as needed.
• Provide day-to-day coverage as assigned.
