Job summary

Julie Billiart School is building a substitute teacher pool for its network of four campuses in Northeast Ohio, including Westlake. The role places you in a co-teach model supporting two intervention specialists to carry out instruction across K-8 settings.

As a substitute teacher, you will deliver engaging activities, align with school policies, and adapt to students’ diverse needs across Akron, Brecksville, Lyndhurst, and Westlake campuses.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, or a related field.
• Professional certification or license preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning.
• Implement lesson plans and schemes of work created by the classroom teacher.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for learning activities.
• Prepare the classroom for daily activities.
• Select instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs.
• Instruct and monitor students' use of learning materials and equipment.
• Assign and give feedback on student work.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress.
• Other duties as needed.
