Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school graduation or equivalent (required).
• Two years (72 quarter or 48 semester credits) of college OR AA degree OR ParaPro with passing score.
• Register for ParaPro assessment at the ETS site.
• Ability to pass a federal background check.
• Fluency in Spanish and English may be required depending on assignment.
• Basic word processing and keyboarding preferred.
• Basic math skills including fractions, percent, and ratios.
• Understand procedures and follow written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Administers tests, homework, make‑up work to support teachers and students.
• Assists with instructional activities (reading, writing, math, study skills, behavior).
• Supports teachers and other personnel as needed.
• Assists with classroom discipline for a safe learning environment.
• Guides independent study and enrichment work.
• Implements instructional programs under teacher supervision.
• Monitors students and activities to ensure safety.
• Performs record keeping and clerical tasks.
• Assists with development of IEPs and daily living tasks.
• Attends meetings and training.
• May administer first aid when needed.
