Job summary

McLean County Unit District No. 5 is seeking a Permanent - Sub Teacher to provide classroom instruction and support to Unit 5 students. The role requires assuming duties of the classroom teacher, leading instruction, enforcing rules, and building positive relationships with students.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree or higher and the ability to obtain the Substitute License through ROE #17. The position is on-site with hours based on the school calendar and offers $25.00 per hour plus

Bachelor's degree or higher is required.
Ability to obtain and maintain the Substitute License through ROE #17.
Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time.
Enforce school regulations and policies in a professional manner.
Maintain good working relationships with fellow employees and pupils.

Responsibilities

Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with lesson plans and school rules.
Lead instruction in the classroom by following the teacher's lesson plans.
Instruct students on a variety of classroom topics.
Build positive relationships.
Motivate students to learn and encourage classroom participation.
Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students.
Adapt to various learning styles and social needs of students.
Maintain order in the classroom and demonstrate confidence with diverse learners.
