Job summary

McLean County Unit District No. 5 is seeking a Permanent - Sub Teacher to provide classroom instruction and support to Unit 5 students. The role requires assuming duties of the classroom teacher, leading instruction, enforcing rules, and building positive relationships with students.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree or higher and the ability to obtain the Substitute License through ROE #17. The position is on-site with hours based on the school calendar and offers $25.00 per hour plus

• Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with school district lesson plans and school rules.
• Leading instruction in the classroom by following the teacher's lesson plans.
• Instructing students on a variety of classroom topics.
• Building positive relationships.
• Motivate students to learn, and encourage classroom participation.
• Create a classroom environment that's conducive to learning and appropriate for the students.
• Adapt to the various learning styles and social needs of students.
• Maintain order in the classroom and demonstrate confidence working with students with varying strengths and skills.

• Ability to obtain and maintain the Substitute License through the Regional Office of Education (ROE #17).

Scheduling

The work hours for this position are based upon the schools' hours of operation and the school-year calendar. You will have the flexibility to choose when, where, and how often you substitute teach.

Compensation

$25.00/hour
