Job summary

Impact Public Schools in the Seattle area is hiring a Substitute Paraprofessional/Teaching Assistant for the upcoming school year. This in-person, part-time role supports early and elementary education at multiple locations (Tukwila, South Seattle, Renton).

You will work with Lead Teacher to implement lessons, assist with behavior management, monitor student safety, and collect progress data to inform instruction. A strong team ethos and commitment to inclusive learning are essential.

Qualifications

• Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or; Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university; or Have received a qualifying score on the Education Testing Service (ETS) paraeducator assessment completed an apprenticeship program, in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Lead Teacher to contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment and support effective behavior management strategies.
• Independently lead enrichment and small group instruction in support of literacy, math, language development, and social-emotional learning.
• Assist in implementing comprehensive lesson plans and anticipate student responses to facilitate effective instruction.
• Provide behavioral, social-emotional, and academic interventions aligned with student support plans (IEP, BIP, Tier 2).
• Supervise transitions, lunch, and activities to ensure student safety and inclusivity.
