Job summary

Paramount Pictures’ CBS News and Stations in Chicago seeks an experienced Sports Anchor/Reporter to lead multi-platform sports coverage across linear, streaming, and digital platforms. You will anchor, write, and produce engaging sports content from the studio and on location at major events.

Ideal candidates bring proven market experience, strong writing and storytelling skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to new formats while collaborating with the newsroom and digital teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sports Anchor/Reporter in a major market (Top 10 preferred)
• Strong understanding of changing sports consumption and digital, streaming, and social formats
• On-air presence suitable for linear studio anchoring, streaming coverage, and digital video content
• Deep knowledge of Chicago and national sports leagues, college athletics, and high school athletics
• Superior writing skills with adaptable tone for linear TV, digital articles, streaming scripts, and social copy
• Ability to work under live pressure, multitask, and collaborate with newsroom teams
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel for major sports coverage
• This is a SAG-AFTRA position

Responsibilities

• Lead energetic, authoritative sports segments on linear broadcasts; host sports specials and digital programming
• Write, produce, and adapt sports content for linear TV, CBS News Chicago Streaming, CBSChicago.com, and social platforms
• Anchor and report live on location from marquee events and breaking sports news
• Develop enterprise, character-driven sports stories beyond game recaps
• Execute proactive social media strategies to engage Chicago sports fans in real time
• Craft sharp, conversational copy and well-structured scripts for various formats
• Maintain journalistic integrity with high editorial standards in a fast-paced newsroom
