Job summary

Bassett Healthcare Network is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate, diagnose and treat disorders of speech, voice, swallowing, language and cognitive communication in diverse settings.

This role reports to Rehab leadership and works as part of a multidisciplinary team, with travel required weekly and NYS licensure pursued within 12 months of hire. Bassett offers comprehensive benefits and professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in speech language pathology or equivalent from an accredited college or university, required
• Eligibility for a certificate of clinical competency during a clinical fellowship year is also acceptable
• NYS license as a Speech/Language Pathologist or for new grads – NYS license as a Speech/Language Pathologist must be obtained within 12 months from date of hire, required
• BLS Certification - within 6 months from date of hire, required

Responsibilities

• Maintains licensure by obtaining required CEUs as determined by NYS Practice Act
• Adheres to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state and local requirements and Joint Commission (TJC) standards.
• Performs comprehensive assessment as evidenced by clinical documentation.
• Develops a plan of care to promote optimum function and safety, as documented in the clinical record.
• Completes all required documentation following treatment and procedures and ensures that documentation reflects care provided and outcomes achieved.
• Coordinates patient care with other clinical team members ensuring optimal patient care and resource availability.
• Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
• Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a team inter and intra departmentally to facilitate the department’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.
• Additional duties as assigned.
