Job summary

Amergis is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a contract-full-time role in Memphis, TN. The teacher will provide quality services to special education students from kindergarten through grade 12 under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, valid state teaching certificate, and appropriate state certifications. Experience and endorsements in Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred.
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations.
• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred.
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.

• Provide quality services to special education students K–12.
• Participate in planning and implementation of student programs with the team.
• Consult with general education staff to support instructional goals.
