Job summary

The LaGrange Area Department of Special Education (LADSE) is seeking a Substitute Special Education Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. This on-call position covers LADSE self-contained SPED classrooms and supports students from Early Childhood through High School.

Compensation is $125/day with opportunities to assist across multiple SPED programs, depending on classroom needs. Applicants must hold a valid Illinois ISBE Substitute Teaching license or a Professional Educator License.

Qualifications

• Requires IL ISBE Substitute Teaching license or a Professional Educator License.
• Experience working in a special education classroom preferred.
• LBS1 endorsements are not always required unless for a long-term assignment.

Responsibilities

• Substitute in LADSE self-contained SPED classrooms (Multi-Needs, Communication Development, ED, Phonological and Project Search).
• Coverage across Early Childhood through High School levels.
• Support individual and small group instruction as needed.
