Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, you will provide quality services and collaborate with general education staff to plan and implement individualized instruction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
• Endorsement: LBS1 preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Provides quality services to special education students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
• Collaborates with general education staff to plan and implement student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation.
• Under direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, supports student planning and delivery of services.
