Job summary

AB Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year in Lexington, South Carolina. This 40-hour contract runs through the academic calendar with a weekly salary of $1,920–$2,080.

Responsibilities include planning, adapting IEP-based instruction, and collaborating with families and staff. Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Special Education, an active SC teaching license, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in relation to Special Education from an accredited college or university.
• Active SC Special Education Teaching license.
• Knowledge of core academic subjects, curriculum, and ability to instruct students and manage behavior.
• Experience with students with a variety of disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging, effective lesson plans and special education programs tailored to students’ needs.
• Adapt curriculum based on IEPs and diverse learning styles.
• Maintain regular contact with parents and provide progress updates.
• Create a well-organized, safe, and positive learning environment.
• Implement strategies to manage behavior and ensure a productive classroom atmosphere.
• Provide individualized and group instruction using specialized techniques for diverse needs.
• Assess and track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Modify curriculum and materials according to IEP goals.
• Conduct evaluations and maintain accurate records of progress.
• Collaborate with educators and specialists to support student success.
• Engage in professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and complete necessary documentation.
