Job summary

Nassau BOCES seeks regularized substitute teachers in the Department of Special Education. Candidates must hold NYS Special Education certification and preferably multiple SLD certifications.

Experience with students needing learning, behavior, and social/emotional supports is required, with data-informed instruction aligned to NGSS standards. Regular substitutes will deliver instruction, differentiate lessons, and monitor student progress.

Qualifications

• Must hold New York State Certification in Special Education.
• Prefer two or more SED certifications (Birth-2, 1-6, 5-9, 7-12).
• Experience working with students with learning, behavior, and social/emotional needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction as regularized substitute teacher in special education settings.
• Utilize differentiated instruction to meet diverse learner needs and data-driven progress.
• Support students in alignment with Next Generation Learning Standards.
