Job summary

Monroe County Intermediate School District is seeking a Special Education Substitute Teacher (EduStaff Employee) for the 2026-27 school year. The substitute will cover assignments across several elementary sites, with a fixed daily rate of $145.

Qualifications

• 60 semester hours of satisfactory credit from a regionally accredited college, community college, or university.
• Must obtain a Substitute Teacher Permit from Michigan if you do not hold a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate.
• Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Report to the school office upon arrival and check out daily.
• Meet and instruct assigned classes at scheduled times.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Maintain accurate records of the day.
• Plan, supervise and guide students, aides, and volunteers.
• Assist students with their work.
• Follow lesson plans and take notes.
• Be prepared to assist in other classrooms during prep hours.
• Maintain student confidentiality.
• Discipline students when necessary per policy.
• Be aware of school safety drills and procedures.
• Interact positively with staff, students, parents, and the community.
• Perform other duties as required.
