Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education.
• RIDE certification: Elementary/Middle Special Education Teacher, K-8 or Middle/Secondary 7-12.
• Crisis management training such as Safety Care preferred.
• Strong oral and written communications skills.
• Ability to interact with students, staff, families and community.
• Problem-solving and de-escalation能力.

Responsibilities

• Develops, plans, implements, and reviews IEPs for students on caseload.
• Adheres to timelines, paperwork, and case management per regulations.
• Supervises support staff and maintains routines and programming.
• Designs and collects data on behavioral programs for students.
• Works with mental health/behavioral issues and communicates with the team.
• Uses de-escalation strategies and reports incidents to administrators and parents.
• Serves as a case manager and maintains student confidentiality.
• Utilizes technology to facilitate learning (MS Office, Google, SAMS, Aspen).
• Other duties as assigned by the principal.
