Job summary

Grand Rapids Public Schools invites applications for a Certified Special Education Teacher - Resource Programming. The teacher will plan instruction, adapt curriculum, and serve as the case manager for students with IEPs.

The role requires developing IEPs based on evaluations, differentiating instruction, collaborating with general education teachers and service providers, and documenting progress for Medicaid billing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education with endorsement in at least one area of special education (ASD, EI, CI, SLD, PI, HI, VI, TBI, etc.).
• Current Michigan special education teaching certification.
• Experience teaching the International Baccalaureate curriculum (preferred).
• Knowledge of IEP case management and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for scholars based on evaluation data.
• Differentiate instruction to meet scholars' progress and needs.
• Collaborate with all service providers, general education teachers and other staff.
• Log and maintain monthly Service Capture reporting requirements for Medicaid Billing.
• Participate in RtI and Scholar Success Team processes as appropriate.
• Integrate technology use in the classroom.
