Job summary

Campus Elementary School (PreK-5) within Grand Rapids Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Aide for Resource Programming to support scholars with disabilities. The role works as part of the Special Education team under the Principal's supervision and contributes to delivering a quality educational program.

Key duties include assisting with behavioral management, implementing instructional strategies, supervising field trips and activities, helping with transportation and pool activities

Qualifications

• Must have: 60 college credits or an associate’s degree or a passing score on an MDE approved paraprofessional assessment.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Ability to work in diverse environments and with confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate behavior management strategies for students.
• Assist in instruction, materials prep, and establishing reward systems as directed by teachers.
• Assist with transportation, field trips, and school activities; supervise as needed.
• Support in swimming activities and pool supervision under appropriate supervision.
• Maintain attendance, records, and relevant documents; communicate with staff and parents.
