Job summary

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and NC licensure in Exceptional Children's education, plus the ability to work in a team and motivate diverse learners. Strong tech skills with MS Office and Google Apps are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university.
• Hold or be eligible for a North Carolina Professional Educator's License in an Exceptional Children's teaching area (not including licenses in Academically or Intellectually Gifted).
• Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license according to North Carolina requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develops IEPs for students with disabilities and uses test data to update them as needed.
• Implements instructional strategies and progress monitoring tools for specially designed instruction.
• Assists students in completing curriculum tasks and IEP goals.
• Uses varied teaching methods and materials to meet diverse student needs.
• Monitors behavior, maintains classroom discipline, and teaches behavioral strategies.
• Evaluates student work and adjusts instruction to address educational needs.
• Attends IEP meetings and collaborates with the team.
• Keeps abreast of trends and best practices through professional development.
