Port Huron Area School District Port Huron Northern High School - Fort Gratiot Township, Michigan is seeking a Special Ed / Medical Paraeducator to support instructional programs. Starting immediately, 6.75 hours per day, 191 days; multiple qualification paths are accepted, including MTTC or Parapro options; CPI trained or willing to be trained is required.

Qualifications

• Must meet one of the listed educational/certification options.
• Must be able to bend, lift up to 50 pounds in assisting students.
• CPI trained or willing to be trained.

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality regarding the student and materials used in this program.
• Understand characteristics of physically disabled students and promote positive self-esteem.
• Participate in in-service training to support students.
• Communicate medical needs of students with the teacher and maintain home-school communication.
• Assist and/or lift children according to individual student needs and ensure safety.
