Job summary

Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment firm, is seeking Spanish Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year at private and independent schools in New York, NY and nationwide. Teachers will develop engaging lessons and curricula and assess student progress across listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Spanish or related field, 2–3 years of teaching experience, and proven proficiency in Spanish.

• Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Linguistics, Education, or related required.
• Proven written and verbal proficiency in Spanish.
• 2-3 years of previous teaching experience.
• No teaching license or credential is required.
• Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
• Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community.
• Willingness to assist with extracurricular and school community activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop engaging lesson plans and curricula tailored to the needs and skill levels of individual students.
• Teach Spanish language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through a variety of instructional methods.
• Create opportunities for students to practice conversational Spanish and improve pronunciation and comprehension.
• Teaching students about Spanish culture, which may include festivals, traditional food, and dress, and social conventions.
• Organizing fun events where students can showcase their Spanish language skills.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress and behavior.
• Participate in regular professional development activities to stay current with best practices and innovation in language education.
