Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist - General for a Radiology department in Massachusetts. candidates must have 2+ years of current experience with OB ultrasound and ARDMS/RDCS certifications. Travel assignment includes 36 hours weekly, call, and potential weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of current Ultrasound Technologist experience
• OB ultrasound experience required
• Vascular ultrasound experience preferred
• Active ARDMS certification required
• RDCS certification required
• RVT through ARDMS or RVS through CCI preferred
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• Meditech Expanse experience preferred
• License required if applicable
• Proficient in abdominal, pelvic, and obstetrical ultrasound studies
• Proficient in DVT studies of arms and legs and obtaining images using portable equipment
• Familiar with sterile technique and setup of sterile trays
• Ability to function independently in a high-stress, work-intensive environment
• Ability to stand/walk up to 6 hours per 8-hour shift
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs intermittently and over 100 lbs with assistance or mechanical aid
• Adequate sight/hearing to meet job requirements
• Speak/read/understand English
• Current ultrasound tech skills checklist within 1 year
• Supervisory reference from past two years

Responsibilities

• Work in Radiology department of a teaching hospital
• 8 or 12-hour day shifts (8:00-4:30 or 8:00-20:30)
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Weekend and holiday coverage may be required
• Call is required
• Perform a wide variety of ultrasound procedures with independent judgment
• May have independent responsibilities as directed by management
• May supervise or instruct department personnel as determined
• Demonstrate proper operation of PACS, HIS, RIS and troubleshoot
• Follow infection control and body substance isolation protocols
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
• Attend annual mandatory education on safety topics
• Maintain department competencies as required
• Traveler must provide own vehicle
• No more than 5 days of RTO during assignment
• Work two holiday blocks if scheduled
• Includes 8 hours of non-billable orientation
