Job summary

Bath County High School in Owingsville, KY is seeking a Social Studies/History Teacher for the 26/27 school year. The role requires Kentucky teaching certification and the ability to teach Social Studies, including US History.

You will plan, implement and assess instruction, maintain records, communicate with families, and participate in district initiatives to support student achievement and safety. The position is full-time and on-site.

Qualifications

• Kentucky Teaching Certificate with proper endorsements.
• Additional qualifications as Superintendent or Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional leadership within school, community, and education profession to improve student learning and support district and state initiatives.
• Demonstrates content knowledge within assigned discipline(s) or program and in applications to other disciplines.
• Plans, implements and assesses instruction designed to develop students’ abilities to use certain skills and core concepts.
• Assess student learning using Kentucky’s Assessment Program; communicate results to students, parents and staff; refer for extra services as necessary.
• Creates and supervises learning climate that supports student achievement and safety.
• Evaluates teaching effectiveness based on student achievement in relation to Kentucky’s learning goals.
• Uses technology to support instruction, access data, enhance professional growth and productivity, and collaborate with colleagues.
• Participates in required training relative to teaching assignments and initiatives.
• Secures and uses school/community resources; communicates with parents.
• Adheres to policies, regulations and laws.
• Participates in school activities and meetings as assigned.
• Maintains records as required by district policies and law.
• Delivers instruction aligned with curriculum and district program requirements.
• Serves on ARC for eligibility of students for special education and implements IEPs.
• All other duties assigned by Superintendent and Principal.
