Job summary

Requirements include an active Science certification and the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and parents. Preference given to candidates with DA/DI certification and prior teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold active and valid Science certification enabling teaching all Science courses.
• Proven experience in teaching Science preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans and prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet student needs and location resources.
• Strives to implement the district’s education philosophy and goals as outlined in course outlines.
• Diagnoses student and class educational needs.
• Plans instructional goals and cooperates with staff to achieve aims.
• Evaluates student progress on a regular basis.
• Maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
• Establishes and maintains standards of classroom behavior as approved by the Principal.
• Protects students, equipment, and facilities; follows safety protocols.
• Maintains records as required by policy; upholds school rules and policies.
• Communicates with students and parents about academic and behavioral progress.
• Pursues professional growth through reading, workshops, and courses.
