Job summary

The nurse will develop and maintain health records, implement screening programs, administer medications with physician orders, and collaborate with teachers, families and community health resources to support student well-being.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
• Licensed RN in Indiana required.
• School nurse certification required.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and evaluates school health program goals, objectives and procedures.
• Identifies and reports environmental health and safety hazards.
• Maintains student health records and emergencies information.
• Administers medications per physician orders and parent authorization.
• Provides health counseling and education to students.
• Collaborates with teachers and staff on health education units.
• Maintains system for first aid and emergency care.
• Participates in child study teams and IEP health components.
• Assists with training paraprofessionals in medical procedures.
• Implements Indiana-mandated screening programs.

Licensed as a registered nurse

Certifiable as a school nurse
