Job summary

Dakota CUSD #201 is seeking qualified Substitute School Nurses to provide health services and support to students during the absence of the regularly assigned school nurse.

The substitute nurse helps maintain a safe and healthy school environment by addressing student health needs, administering medications as authorized, responding to medical situations, and maintaining accurate health records in accordance with district policies and Illinois State Board of Education requirements.

Qualifications

• Illinois Professional Educator License with School Nurse endorsement preferred.
• Current CPR/AED certification preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, families, and administrators.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing services to students in accordance with regulations and procedures.
• Assess and respond to student illnesses, injuries, and health concerns.
• Administer medications and treatments as authorized by orders and consent.
• Maintain accurate health documentation and confidentiality of records.
• Communicate with staff, parents/guardians, and medical providers as appropriate.
• Assist with management of chronic conditions and emergency care plans.
• Participate in emergency response and crisis situations as needed.
• Ensure compliance with state requirements and district policies.
• Perform other duties related to student health services.
