Job summary

Jefferson County Schools is seeking a Substitute Cook to perform cooking and baking duties in the district’s school kitchens. You will follow nutritionally sound menus, help with inventory and data entry where applicable, and may assist the Cafeteria Manager in their absence.

The role requires the ability to work with large quantities, operate commercial equipment, and maintain safety and cleanliness standards in a school kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; background check required.
• Ability to perform quantity cooking and basic baking.
• Must meet WV codes and JCBOE policies.

Responsibilities

• Review weekly menus and prepare meals.
• Operate commercial kitchen equipment.
• Prepare daily menu items; maintain temperature readings.
• Assist with special events and training substitutes.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of kitchen.
