Job summary

Dublin City Schools seeks a Substitute Custodian to maintain cleanliness and safety of school facilities in Dublin, OH. The role reports to the Building Principal and requires reliable attendance and ability to perform basic repairs and cleaning tasks.

Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms, floors, restrooms and common areas; reporting issues to the head custodian; maintaining supplies and equipment; and following all safety regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in repair, painting, cleaning, and operating cleaning equipment.
• Ability to communicate in a courteous manner.
• A neat appearance.
• Ability to carry out assigned duties.
• Alternatives to the above qualifications may be acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Keeps building and premises neat and clean at all times.
• Notifies head custodian or principal of emergencies and manages HVAC when needed.
• Follows OSHA and local regulations for maintenance, repair and operation of equipment.
• Shovels and salts walks, driveways, and steps as appropriate.
• Checks exit doors and panic hardware during occupancy hours.
• Cleans classrooms daily and dusts furniture as time allows.
• Maintains clean floors and corridors in good condition.
• Disinfects toilet and lunchroom areas daily and cleans fixtures.
• Washes windows as needed and keeps grounds free of rubbish.
• Empties trash cans daily and reports major repairs promptly.
