Job summary

West Hill Community Church in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York seeks a Senior Pastor to provide spiritual leadership and vision. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic communicator and a humble servant-leader with a heart for rural ministry and discipleship, working with the deacon board, ministry leaders and the Leadership Council.

The role requires shepherding, authentic teaching, and oversight of worship, outreach, and church operations.

• Called to pastoral ministry
• Husband of one wife
• Good judgment and Christian deportment
• Kind and gentle spirit
• Able to teach
• Be a good manager of his family
• Good reputation
• Accept the Southern Baptist Faith and Message

Responsibilities

• Be a pastor/counselor to the people of the church and their families
• Preach and Teach the Word of God
• Lead by example and train the church in evangelism
• Help the church develop and implement an intentional discipleship strategy
• Provide leadership to the church in worship
• Equip the saints for the work of ministry
• Promote fellowship in the church
• Lead the church to develop and implement an intentional outreach strategy
• Provide oversight and supervision for all aspects of the church’s activity
• Supervise all employees of the church – paid and volunteer
• Serve as the Chairman of the Leadership Council
• Serve as moderator of the church
