Job summary

Prince William County Government’s Department of Parks & Recreation seeks a Recreation Supervisor to lead the daily operations, programming, and services at Veterans Memorial Park. This hands-on role focuses on staff development, program quality, customer service, and community engagement.

You will supervise year-round and seasonal staff, plan and evaluate programs and events, coordinate operations, ensure safety and policies, and build strong partnerships with the public, staff, and partners to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 5 years of experience in recreation management, parks and recreation, facility operations, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred with CPRP/CPO certifications.
• Five or more years of public recreation management experience, including three or more years of supervisory experience.
• Experience coordinating recreation programs, facility operations, events, or related services.
• Local government experience and ability to manage a diverse workforce.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, promote, monitor, and evaluate recreation programs and special events.
• Supervise, training, coaching, and evaluating year-round and seasonal staff.
• Coordinate daily operational needs and address customer and facility concerns.
• Ensure policies, procedures, and safety standards are followed.
• Build strong relationships with staff and the community while fostering a positive team environment.
