Job summary

Chatham County Parks and Recreation is seeking energetic individuals to join as Temporary Recreation Leaders. You’ll help run events, lead programs, and support facilities, while staying active and engaging with the public in a dynamic community setting.

Responsibilities include supervising activities, setting up and breaking down spaces, and delivering excellent customer service. This temporary role has variable hours and does not include benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service settings with the public.
• Experience in a recreational setting preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret safety rules and procedures.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Oversees operation of facilities, contractors, volunteers, and patrons; acts as contact in absence of full-time staff.
• Performs maintenance, custodial, opening and closing duties for facilities.
• Sets up and breaks down for programs or events in various spaces.
• Leads or assists in supervision of youth and adult programs and athletics.
• Provides positive customer service and resolves issues proactively.
• Promotes programs and events offered by the department.
• Maintains equipment and supplies; keeps records and reports as directed.
• Enforces county rules and policies; distributes information and evaluations.
