Job summary

Chatham County Parks and Recreation is seeking energetic Temporary Recreation Leaders to support daily operations of programs and events at community centers and parks. You will help set up facilities, supervise activities, and provide friendly, proactive customer service to participants and patrons.

This temporary role involves varied hours with no benefits, and prior experience in customer service or recreation is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer service setting with the public.
• Experience in a recreational setting is preferred.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation of assigned facility, contractors, volunteers, and patrons; act as point of contact in the absence of full-time staff.
• Perform regular maintenance, custodial, and opening/closing duties of facilities.
• Set up and break down for programs or events in various spaces.
• Lead or assist in supervision of programs, events, and athletics for youth and adults.
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve issues proactively.
