Job summary

RiseMe in Layton, Utah, is seeking a versatile recreation instructor to plan and lead instructional programs across sports, music, and performing arts. You’ll teach beginner to advanced skills, ensure safety, and support program quality.

You will promote the city’s mission, work with participants, and collaborate with staff and partners to deliver engaging classes and performances, while maintaining a welcoming environment for all ages.

Qualifications

• Education and experience: basic knowledge of sport, music, or performing arts; six months’ experience in youth instruction or coaching.
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities: develop class content, instruct participants, demonstrate techniques, maintain safety, communicate effectively.
• Special qualifications: must be 18+, first aid/CPR/AED within 3 months, valid driver’s license preferred, teaching or coaching certification or related degree, specific sport certifications as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Promote City mission and values.
• Plan and conduct recreation instructional classes (cross country, pickleball, tennis, track, music, band, etc.).
• Provide instruction on skills, rules, strategies, and performance techniques.
• Interact professionally with facility users and staff to support positive experiences.
• Perform related duties as required.
