Qualifications

• Current national fitness certifications are required.
• One year of formal fitness teaching experience
• Be able to develop and implement age appropriate fitness classes
• Skilled and passionate about teaching in a structured, fun recreation environment
• Minimum of an 8-12 week teaching commitment. This can be on ongoing position depending upon availability and facility needs.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification are preferred, but not required
• Age requirement: Must be 18+ years

Responsibilities

• Curriculum planning, implementing programs and/or classes, classroom management by adapting to participant's needs and behaviors, instruction of specialized courses or skills.
• Record keeping by maintaining attendance sheets, participant contact information and liability waivers, maintaining confidentiality and using discretion when speaking with parents
• Make recommendations as to enhance and optimize class participation.
• Maintain and inspect all classroom tools and equipment.
• The primary function of this position is to teach a wide range of recreation classes for early childhood to adult age groups.
