Job summary

Hemenway & Barnes LLP seeks a motivated junior- to mid-level associate for its dynamic real estate practice. The associate will join a team handling complex commercial real estate transactions and advising closely-held businesses, private investors, high-net-worth individuals, family offices, trustees and estates on matters involving commercial and residential real estate.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest and experience in real estate transactions including acquisitions and sales,

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) with strong academic credentials.
Experience in real estate transactions including acquisitions & sales, leasing, development and financing.
Excellent writing and oral communication skills; able to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

Manage sophisticated commercial and residential real estate transactions from inception through closing.
Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, licenses, operating agreements, and related documents.
Coordinate due diligence including title, survey, zoning, environmental, and permitting reviews.
Structure and negotiate financing transactions including commercial loans and private lending arrangements.
Advise clients on acquisition, disposition, development, and ownership strategies for investment and personal-use properties.
Coordinate closings and oversee post-closing matters.
