Job summary

Lee County VA Clinic seeks a Fee Basis Physician in Primary Care to deliver comprehensive care to Veterans. The role involves taking patient histories, performing exams, diagnosing and treating conditions, and coordinating with the Patient Aligned Care Team.

Applicants must meet VA requirements, hold an MD, license, complete residency in Family or Internal Medicine, and be eligible for board certification. Work is on an as-needed, on-call basis with no fixed schedule.

Qualifications

  • Citizenship per VA policy.
  • MD degree from an approved school for the year of completion.
  • Full and unrestricted medical license in the U.S. or D.C.
  • Residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine leading to eligibility for board certification.
  • Board certification eligibility may be required for faculty status in some cases.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary care to assigned Veterans.
  • Take histories, perform examinations, diagnose and treat conditions.
  • Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments as appropriate.
  • Participate in daily team huddles and care planning.
  • Ensure documentation in the EMR and comply with VA policies.
