Job summary

Berkeley County Schools is seeking an ECCAT/Supervisory Special Ed PreK Aide to support a PreK student with special needs at Hedgesville Early Learning Academy. The role runs 7:30 AM–2:30 PM, 200 days per year, under the supervision of the Principal or Director of PreK-K Programs.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, eligibility for ECCAT authorization, and successful background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must pass state mandated ECCAT competency test.
• Must be eligible to apply for ECCAT authorization and enroll in required courses.
• Background check required.
• Ability to work with students with disabilities and follow IEPs.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with daily instructional activities.
• Support small groups and individual students.
• Assist with lifting, feeding, toileting and other care needs.
• Prepare classroom materials and bulletin boards; supervise students in classroom and on bus.
