You will read drawings, perform quantity take-offs, calculate labor and equipment costs, identify risks, solicit subcontractors, and develop vendor relationships. Projects range from 4 million to 400 million, requiring multi-tasking and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of underground mechanical estimating or similar field experience.
• Ability to understand construction terminology.
• Strong communication, teamwork and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Read and review drawings, specifications and reports.
• Perform quantity take-off of Pipe & Appurtenances with material types.
• Calculate labor and equipment costs for self-performed work across jobsite conditions.
• Identify risks including utility conflicts, dewatering needs, and excavation protection.
• Solicit Subcontractor/Supplier participation via phone and/or E-mail.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key vendors and subcontractors.
• Proficient in scope analysis and estimate deficiencies as needed.
• Attend Pre-Bid Meetings as needed.
• Write RFIs, clarifications and assumptions.
