Job summary

Orionplacement, based in the Greater St. Louis area, seeks an attorney with strong civil litigation experience to manage matters from discovery through trial.

You will conduct depositions, develop strategy, negotiate settlements, and prepare witnesses for courtroom proceedings. The role requires a JD from an accredited law school, active Missouri and Illinois bar licenses, and at least 3+ years of civil litigation.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active Missouri Bar license.
• Active Illinois Bar license.
• 3+ years of civil litigation experience.
• Strong practical knowledge of civil procedure, discovery, depositions, and litigation strategy.
• Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and client communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters independently and meet deadlines.
• Plaintiff personal injury, wrongful death, insurance defense, corporate defense, or comparable litigation experience preferred.
• Meaningful trial preparation or courtroom experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage civil litigation matters from discovery through resolution and trial.
• Conduct and defend depositions, develop case strategy, and prepare witnesses.
• Lead negotiations, mediations, and settlement discussions while advocating strongly for clients.
• Draft and respond to motions, discovery, and other litigation filings.
• Prepare cases thoroughly for trial and participate actively in courtroom proceedings.
• Communicate closely with clients and help them make informed decisions throughout their cases.
• Manage multiple active matters while meeting deadlines and maintaining excellent work quality.
• Earn $125,000 to $200,000 in base compensation, depending on experience, plus production-based incentives.
