Responsibilities

• Applies knowledge acquired through formal education in an accredited program.
• Applies knowledge of principles and practices related to therapeutic interventions.
• Client assessments are based on standardized assessments, observations, medical records and caregivers.
• Response to treatment is assessed to progress within the treatment plan.
• Work is performed within established treatment plans and strategies.
• May plan or lead group activities or classes.
• Provides education, guidance, and encouragement for therapeutic activities.
• Plans for therapy are implemented and client quality of life improves.
• Promotes client independence and progress toward goals.
• Records client progress for therapists and communicates any changes in condition.
• Provides direction to interns, students, or staff; works under supervision of a licensed therapist.
